Thomas Q. Miles, 72, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 5, 1935, in Holcomb, Mo., son of the late Tom and Namoni Sisco Miles. He and Peggy S. Crader were married Feb. 1, 1981.
Thomas was a traveling salesman for Consolidated Cigar Corp. from 1964 until his retirement in January 2000. He was a member of Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge 639 and enjoyed camping and playing cards in his spare time.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army from Nov. 7, 1957, to Oct. 19, 1959.
Loving survivors include his wife, Peggy S. Miles of Cape Girardeau; two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Dave Grass of Jackson, Renee and Stuart Fox of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary Mac and Jeannie Miles of Palestine, Texas; four grandchildren, Morgan Riddick, Ben Slicer, Dusty and Logan Miles; and a special niece, Lisa Jamieson.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Louis Francis officiating. Interment will follow in Hitt Cemetery at Arbor, with full military honors.
