MATTHEWS -- Thomas B. Hairston, 64, of Matthews died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Conway, Ark., son of Everette and Dorthy Crain Hairston. He and Alice O. Mason were married Feb. 14, 1953, in Canalou. She died June 4, 1992.
Hairston was owner and operator of AA Services. He had hauled sand and gravel, and done general construction and backhoe work.
Survivors include two sons, Vic Hairston of Sikeston, Mark Hairston of Bell City; a daughter, Linda O'Hara of Morehouse; his mother of Matthews; two brothers, Paul Hairston of Bakersfield, Calif., Kenneth Hairston of Claremore, Okla.; two sisters, Peggy Clayton and Marie Logan of Bakersfield; a friend, Peggy Hardin of Matthews; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Don Heitman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
