JONESBORO, Ill. - Thomas F. Coffman, 72, of Jonesboro, died Friday, Sept. 27, 1991 at the Union County Hospital in Anna. He was 72.

Coffman was born in Curryville, Mo. Feb. 4, 1919. His parents were Francis and Elizabeth Tibbetts Coffman. He retired from the Choate Mental Health Center in Anna.

In 1971, he married Betty Hart in Jonesboro. She survives.

Coffman is a World War II veteran and a member of several organizations. They include the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro; Jonesboro Masonic Lodge No. 111; VFW Post No. 3455 in Anna; American Legion Post No. 344; IOOF Lodge No. 241 in Jonesboro; the Jonesboro Eastern Star; Rebekah Lodge No. 556; and chapter 397 of the United Ostomy Association in Cape Girardeau.

Surviving are a step-son, Aaron Hart of Melbourne Beach, Fla.; a step-daughter, Mary Eva Mumper, of Pineville, W.Va.; and four step- grandchildren.

Also surviving are five brothers: John of Sun City Center, Fla.; Laverne of Summerfield, Fla.; Myrle of Metamora; Harland of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Donald of Junction City, Ark.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Norris & Sons Funeral Home in Jonesboro. The Rev. Albert Moore and The Rev. Christine Erdmann will officiate.

Visitation will be held today from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
