Thomas Earl Trout, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 19, 1930, in Campbell, Mo., son of the late James Ora and Dottie Mae Wright Trout. He and Shelby Jean Limbaugh were married April 15, 1954, in Pontiac, Mich.

Trout lived in Pontiac for 33 years, where he worked at General Motors. He moved to Dexter, Mo., 25 years ago. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Survivors include his wife of Dexter; a son, Steven Earl Trout of Dexter; three daughters, Robin Jo Turner of Rutledge, Tenn., Tracey Ann Jones of Fayetteville, N.C., Kim Michele Miller of Clarkston, Mich.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Mavis Gray of Puxico, Mo., Mary Lee Hicks of Cape Girardeau, Opal Lee Wilson of Arnold, Mo., and Virginia Vail Lambert of Dexter.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harold Sitze officiating.

Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
