KELSO, Mo. -- Thomas Carroll, 72, of Kelso died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 21, 1941, at Illmo, son of Silas T. and Goldia Thompson Carroll. KELSO, Mo. -- Thomas Carroll, 72, of Kelso died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 21, 1941, at Illmo, son of Silas T. and Goldia Thompson Carroll. He married Janet Litzler on June 7, 2002.

Thomas had been produce manager at Bob's Foodliner in Scott City. He was a member of Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Rodney (Vicki) Carroll and Rusty (Paula) Carroll of Scott City and Scott (Becky) Carroll of Benton, Mo.; six stepchildren, Laura Greenwood of Dexter, Mo., Tina (Darren) Smith of Somerville, Texas, Paul David Kenkel of Kelso, Tony (Bonnie) Kenkel of Little Rock, Ark., Joey (Debbie) Kenkel of Leander, Texas, and Debbie (John) Gohn of Jackson; a sister, Delores Meredith of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and four great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Randy Carroll.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 8 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 8 at the chapel, with the Rev. Jack Cathcart officiating.
