COBDEN, Ill. -- Thomas G. "Tom" Bailey Jr., 58, of Cobden died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 29, 1944, in Alton, Ill., son of Thomas G. and Lena Marie Jackson Bailey Sr. He and Rose McCrary were married June 28, 1980, in Cobden.
Bailey was a graduate of Alton High School and attended Printers School in New York City.
He owned Union County Oil Co. in Cobden, owned and operated Mr. B's Quik Lube in Anna, Ill., and owned Bailey's Racing Photos and Bailey's Photography.
Bailey was a member of First Baptist Church, Cobden Masonic Lodge 466, National Motor Press Association, and was a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Thomas Bailey III and Danny Hale of Cobden, Steven Bailey of Alto Pass, Ill., Allen Bailey of Anna; a daughter, Tammy Smith of Jonesboro, Ill.; a sister, Bette Harris of Alton; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 6 p.m. today. Cobden Masonic Lodge will have a service at 8.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.
