PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Theresa M. Sutterer, 75, of Perryville died Friday, June 1, 2018, at Independence Care Center of Perry County. She was born Feb. 12, 1943, in Sereno, Missouri, daughter of Martin C. and Virgie M. Gibbar Reiss. She and Michael J. Sutterer were married Sept. 24, 1966. He preceded her in death Nov. 21, 2006...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Theresa M. Sutterer, 75, of Perryville died Friday, June 1, 2018, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

She was born Feb. 12, 1943, in Sereno, Missouri, daughter of Martin C. and Virgie M. Gibbar Reiss. She and Michael J. Sutterer were married Sept. 24, 1966. He preceded her in death Nov. 21, 2006.

Theresa had been a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno. She was a former member of Daughters of Isabella, Lions Club, Garden Club, Perryville Art Guild and was a mentor at Perryville Elementary School.

Survivors include four daughters, Angela (David) Swan of Perryville, Mary (Kenny) Taylor of Springfield, Missouri, Christine Oswald of Cape Girardeau and Jennifer (Jamey) Hotop of Perryville; three brothers and four sisters, Martin C. Reiss Jr. of Perryville, Harold (Betty) Reiss of Red Bud, Illinois, Norman Reiss of Perryville, Shirley Reiss of Palm Beach, Florida, Dorothy Smith of Valparaiso, Indiana, Doris (Kenneth) Dauster of Perryville and June (Kim) Moore of Jackson; 12 grandchildren, Nathan and Elizabeth Swan, Kendra, Jacob, Caleb and Zachary Taylor, Tyler (Tori), Joshua and Katelin Oswald and Drew, Ben and Kara Hotop; and two great-grandchildren, Lane and McKenna Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Donald and Dale Reiss; and a son-in-law, Mark Oswald.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 to 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, with the Rev. Rich Wehrmeyer, C.M., officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.

Memorials preferred to the American Diabetes Association.

Young and Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Perryville provided the arrangements.
