Theresa B. Heisserer, 89, of Cape Girardeau, died Friday at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Feb. 18, 1906 in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of the late Henry J. and Matilda Heuer Brinkopf.
She married Simon M. Heisserer on Feb. 14, 1947. He died Aug. 29, 1989.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Trinity Guild and the Lutheran Home Auxiliary. She graduated from Central High School in 1924 and from City Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis in 1927.
She was a private duty nurse and worked at Southeast Missouri Hospital before becoming an industrial nurse at International Shoe Co., where she worked for 26 years before retiring in April 1968.
She is survived by two sisters, Madeline Godwin and Mamie Chatham, both of Cape Girardeau; four nieces and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Dissen officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
