Theresa Boone

Theresa Lee "Terri" Boone, 57, of Cape Girardeau passed from this life surrounded by her husband, family and friends into the arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Southeast Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 23, 1955, in West Point, N.Y., to John Thomas and Dorothy Glazebrook Jenkins.

Terri graduated from Murray High School in Murray, Ky., and attended Murray State University. Shortly thereafter, she met and married Mark F. Boone on Dec. 30, 1988, in Jackson, Tenn., to whom she remained faithfully married for 24 years.

Terri worked for 14 years in the accounting department of Mid-America Hotels Corp. She was an active member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and was an effective outreach leader in her LifeGroup class at Lynwood, keeping everyone informed of needs and ministry opportunities. She had a passion for witnessing and sharing the love of Christ. Her family can attest that she was the communication glue that kept family connected, literally from coast to coast.

Terri was warm, kind, outgoing and positive and a faithful friend. Her infectious laugh will be missed.

Survivors include her husband, Mark F. Boone of Cape Girardeau; sister, Kimberly Nadine Jenkins of Jackson, Tenn.; brother, John Mark (Marketia) Jenkins of Jackson, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Rose Boone of Louisville, Ky.; and a sister-in-law, Laura (John) Thompson of Shepherdsville, Ky. She leaves behind many fond memories with many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her dear dogs Roxie and Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Thomas and Dorothy Glazebrook Jenkins of Sturgis, Ky.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at Lynwood Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Winchester Cemetery in Winchester, Ky.
