Theon Louis "Junior" Schlosser, of Scott City died Sunday April 1, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 1, 1932, at Illmo, the son of Theon John and Ella Irene LeDure Schlosser. He and Patricia Anne Drury were married Nov. 5, 1955, in Cape Girardeau.

Theon owned and operated Schlosser TV Sales and Service while also being employed with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring as postmaster after 40 years of service. He was a dedicated member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church; served as Eucharistic minister; parish, school board and choir member.

Theon was a Charter Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 6420 of Scott City and was a member of its 4th Degree Assembly 2283. He was a member of the Scott City Kiwanis Club and served on the board of directors for Riverside Regional Libraries, Scott County Transit and Illmo Housing Authority and the Diabetes Association. He volunteered at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Jane (Mark) Ressel of Kelso, Mo., Joan (Darrel) Blattel of Scott City, Lori (Richard) Buttrey of Council Grove, Kan., Marianne McCormick and Teresa Hastings of Cape Girardeau; a son, Patrick (Kim) Schlosser of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Bill Schlosser of Benton, Mo., Maurice Schlosser, Dale Schlosser and Rick Schlosser, all of Scott City; six sisters, Helen Kluesner, Doris Moore, Diana Judd, Charlotte Hooper, Mary Schlosser and Juanita Dannenmueller, all of Scott City; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Theon was preceded in death by twin infant children, John Michael and Elizabeth Ann; two brothers, Frank and Joseph Schlosser; a sister, Ella Schlosser; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church in Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. followed by Knights of Columbus prayers.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
