Theon Albert Dumey, 88, of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at the Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born Aug. 12, 1921, at Chaffee, Mo., to Leo and Josephine Felden Dumey. He and Virginia Engelmann were married Dec. 28, 1946, at Kelso, Mo. She preceded him in death Dec. 17, 2003.
Dumey worked at Procter & Gamble more than 16 years. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and VFW Post 3838.
He served in the U.S. Army from Sept. 8, 1942, to Oct. 1, 1945.
Survivors include four sons, William Dumey of West Palm Beach, Fla., Ronald Dumey of Jefferson City, Mo., Stephen Dumey of Raleigh, N.C., David John Dumey of Gordonville; two daughters, Linda Sue Grothoff of Jefferson City, Mary Bouza of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 12 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from noon to 12:45 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Saviour Nundwe officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery with military rites by Missouri Honors Team.
Memorial contributions may be given to Missouri Veterans Home or for memorial Masses.
