Theodore H. "Ted" Deevers, 82, of Davenport, Iowa, died Sunday, July 23, 1995, at Bettendorf Health Care Center in Bettendorf, Iowa. He was born Dec. 28, 1912, in Cape Girardeau, son of John Edward and Esther Mary Cambron Deevers. He and Meredith U. Tucker were married Dec. 25, 1935, in Cape Girardeau...

Theodore H. "Ted" Deevers, 82, of Davenport, Iowa, died Sunday, July 23, 1995, at Bettendorf Health Care Center in Bettendorf, Iowa.

He was born Dec. 28, 1912, in Cape Girardeau, son of John Edward and Esther Mary Cambron Deevers. He and Meredith U. Tucker were married Dec. 25, 1935, in Cape Girardeau.

Deevers owned and operated Deever Electric Co. in Davenport many years, retiring in 1979. Prior to that he worked for Fischbach and Moore Electrical Contractors in Bettendorf, Riverdale and Chicago. He later assisted in the founding of Deluhery Electric Co. in Davenport, which he later purchased when Frank Deluhery retired.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, former president of Holy Name Society and Te Deum International, and member of National Electrical Contractors Association.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Veronica DeSimone of Clinton, Iowa; two sons, Howard Deevers of Monroeville, Pa., Roger Deevers of Davenport; a brother, Arnold Deevers of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at McGinnis, Chambers and Sass Funeral Home in Bettendorf from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Davenport.
