Thelma Schlamer

THEBES, Ill. -- Thelma Pauline Schlamer, 87, of Thebes passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Daystar Nursing and Rehab in Cairo, Ill.

She was born April 30, 1926, in Thebes, daughter of Robert Pinkney "Pink" and Maude Lovell Foster. She and Louis Lloyd Schlamer were married May 26, 1943, at Charleston, Mo. They had been married 68 years when he preceded her in death Oct. 26, 2011.

Thelma was employed in the cafeteria at Thebes schools several years. She was known for her sewing ability, love of flowers and deep love for family.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Kay (Charles) Hutson of Jackson and Vicki Sue (Zachary) Hannan of Mounds, Ill.; a son, Louis Ray "Bud" Schlamer of Thebes; three grandsons, Christopher Louis (Lindsey) Hutson of Cape Girardeau, Craig Robert Hutson of St. Louis and Zachary Ryan (Ashley) Hannan of Anna, Ill.; four great-grandchildren, Jack and Kate Hutson of Cape Girardeau and Nicholas and Tyler Hannan of Anna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Zella Moore; six brothers, Jessie, Cletus, Woodrow, Guy, Wilfred and Robert "Bob" Foster.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes.
