Thelma Eloise Roth, 90, of Cape Girardeau gained her angel wings Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, in Universal City, Texas, with her beloved sister, a great-niece and her family.
She was born March 11, 1922, in Arkansas, to Clarence Lee and Mary Lou Evans Graviett. She and Vincent Roth were married Feb. 26, 1944, at Grace Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Jan. 24, 1986.
"Weezie," as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, worked 33 years at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. She also worked at Schnucks passing out samples to customers. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society, AARP, FISH and the Red Cross for many years. She also enjoyed being a member of Telephone Pioneers.
She was baptized April 5, 1934, at Oran Baptist Church, and was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Lucille Stigall of Universal City; a great-niece, Betty (Ruben) Cervantes of Universal City, with whom she was going to make her home; a great-nephew, James "Buddy" (Loretta) Guiling of Lindsay, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Imogene Graviett and Marietta Graviett of Oran, Mo.; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
Interment will be at a later date in Friend Cemetery in Oran.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran will be in charge of arrangements.
