JACKSON -- Funeral service for Thelma Mae Davis of Jackson will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park at Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to service time.
Davis, 87, died Monday, April 17, 1995, at Deal Nursing Home.
She was born June 22, 1907, at Neelys Landing, daughter of Burley and Ellen Garner Gohn. She and Amos Davis were married Nov. 4, 1939. He died Sept. 23, 1989.
Davis was a teacher from 1924-40 at Yount School in Perry County; Oak Hill, Shepard, Roberts and Iona Schools in Cape Girardeau County. She was a substitute teacher from 1945-63.
She moved to Jackson in July 1960 from Leemon. She was a member of First Baptist Church at Jackson, and was a children's Sunday School teacher 23 years.
Survivors include cousins.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
