Thelma Kohnen

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -- Thelma Kohnen, 92, of Hendersonville passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at her home.

She was born Aug. 10, 1920, in St. Louis, to Walter and Anna Wentz.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Thomas H. Kohnen; and a brother, Walter "Ted" Wentz.

She is survived by her loving children, Mary Ann Bolen (Jess) of Cape Girardeau, Robert E. Kohnen (Patti) of Holts Summit, Mo., Joan M. Jones (Michael) of Hendersonville and Rosemary A. Gibson (John) of Alton, Ill.; a sister, Annette Yavornik of Hereford, Texas; and a legacy of 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Thelma was a member of St. Vincent's Church in Cape Girardeau, League of Women Voters and Northernaires Extension Club. She was active in Girl Scouting and a leader many years.

A service was Friday at Hendersonville Funeral Home.
