Thelma Jane "Tellie" Kingsbury, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Dec. 5, 1916, in Zalma, Mo., daughter of Marvin B. and Mae Back Moore. She and Clark E. Ervin were married in 1939 at Bonne Terre, Mo. He died in 1973. She later married Delbert Kingsbury Nov. 22, 1984, in Adrian, Mo. He died Aug. 6, 1996.
Mrs. Kingsbury received a bachelor of science degree and master's degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University. She taught school 30 years at Brooks School, Campster School, Jackson Elementary, Washington School, and L.J. Schultz School.
She was a member of Missouri State Teachers Association over 25 years, and a member of Christ Church of the Heartland.
She is survived by a son, Walter M. Ervin of Jupiter, Fla.; a brother, Dean Moore of Adrian; four sisters, Lucy Gateley of Cape Girardeau, Esther Wood of Odessa, Texas, Darlees Maxie of Lake Kiowa, Texas, Della Todt of Oran, Mo.; six grandchildren, Kent Reid of Smithville, Mo., Kevin Reid of Thomasville, Ga., J Kyle Reid of O'Fallon, Mo., Kreg Reid of Liberty, Mo., Jennifer Ervin of Henderson, Nev., Greg Ervin of Jupiter; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Ann Reid; three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.
The funeral will be at the funeral home Sunday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Zack Strong officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
