MARION, ILL. -- Thelma A. Boyer, 74, formerly of Cobden, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 1994, at the Marion Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 27, 1920, in Cobden, Ill., daughter of Thomas Elmer and Mary Lydia Stevens Freely.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cobden.

She married Robert E. Boyer July 23, 1939, in Jackson. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1993.

She is survived by one son, Edward of Marion; four daughters, Judy Boner, Brenda Mooney and Debbie Boyer, all of Marion, and Janet Sanders of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters, Betty Alexander of Okachobee, Fla., and Elva Staley of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lutz and Rendelman Funeral Home in Cobden. Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Cobden Cemetery.
