MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Thelbert Steward, 88, of Marble Hill died Monday, July 10, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 1, 1912, near Puxico, Mo., son of Albert and Iva Harty Steward. He and Pauline Stevenson were married Nov. 2, 1930. She died May 16, 1991.
Steward was a retired farmer. He attended Lutesville General Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Steward of Jefferson City, Mo.; four daughters, Laverne Crouch of Troy, Mo., Virginia Mouser of Marble Hill, Glenda Crumrine of St. Johns, Mich., Carol Morie of Jackson, Mo.; a sister, Ruth Mitchell of Las Cruces, N.M.; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three infant sons, two daughters, a brother, and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Revs. Bob Porter and Lloyd Ray Green will officiate. Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery near Lowndes, Mo.
