MOREHOUSE -- Thelbart T. Curry, 48, of Morehouse, died Monday, Jan. 13, 1992 at St. Louis University Hospital.
He was born April 2, 1943 in Dexter, son of Leora Mace Curry, who survives of Morehouse, and the late Delbart Curry.
He married Doris Hurley on Nov. 3, 1962. She also survives.
He was of the Baptist faith.
A lifelong resident of Southeast Missouri, Curry was currently serving as mayor of Morehouse, a position he had held since April. He was also a farmer and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era.
Other survivors are three sons, David Curry, Terry Curry and Brian Curry all of Morehouse; three brothers, J.W. Curry of Poplar Bluff, Delbart Curry Jr. of Sikeston and Michael Curry of Kansas City, Kan.; three sisters, June Agee, Peoria, Ill., Sue Kelley of Cape Girardeau and Regina Rice of Sikeston; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Randy Thomas, pastor of the First General Baptist Church of Morehouse, will officiate. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
