The Rev. Paul Wood
The Rev. Paul E. Wood, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Eldercare in Marble Hill, Mo.
He was born Sept. 4, 1915, in Cape Girardeau, son of Edwin Thomas and Dona Evans Wood. He and Pauline Virginia Counts were married June 12, 1938.
He was a minister and a charter member of Bethel Assembly of God in Cape Girardeau. He also worked 35 years at the Marquette cement plant. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the South Pacific.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Paul Wood Jr. of Lady Lake, Fla., Bill Wood of Alvin, Texas, Ron Wood of Dickinson, Texas, Kevin Wood of St. Louis; a daughter, Donna Gardner of Marble Hill; two sisters, Reva McClain of Cape Girardeau and Shirley Emmons of West Paducah, Ky.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating. The Delta Team will provide military honors. Interment will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
