The Rev. John W. Beaudean, 51, died Friday, Aug. 27, 1993 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Conn., after an extended illness with ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease.
He was born March 13, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, the son of Elsie Beaudean and the late John W. Beaudean.
After graduating from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, he started Christ Risen Mission Congregation in Kanata, Ontario, where he served for five years.
He was pastor of Holy Faith Lutheran Church in Oak Ridge, New Jersey for 20 years. He was also a professor of New Testament Greek at Drew University for 10 years.
Beaudean received the New York State Commission Silver Cup Award for Courage and Determination from the Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn; two daughters, Jenifer and Elizabeth; his mother, Elsie Beaudean of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Joel Beaudean of St. Louis and Mark Beaudean of Cape Girardeau.
Service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Holy Faith Lutheran Church in Oak Ridge, New Jersey, followed by a reception in the church hall.
Burial will be held Wednesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Danbury, Conn.
