SIKESTON -- The Rev. J. Carl Frame, 73, of Sikeston died at his home Saturday Dec. 18, 1993. He was born March 22, 1920 at Steele, the son of John Lafayette and Grace Buchanan Frame. SIKESTON -- The Rev. J. Carl Frame, 73, of Sikeston died at his home Saturday Dec. 18, 1993.

He was born March 22, 1920 at Steele, the son of John Lafayette and Grace Buchanan Frame.

He was a lifelong resident of Southeast Missouri, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sikeston and veteran of U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was employed 13 years as the program director at KLCN radio station at Blytheville, Ark. and served as Methodist minister from 1964 to 1980.

He attended St. Paul's School of Theology in Kansas City and pastored churches at Dogwood, Puxico, Elvins, Benton, Hermann, and Morehouse.

Frame was the recipient of Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year awards in the communities of Elvins and Benton and was a former member of Kiwanis clubs at Benton and Morehouse.

On Feb. 5, 1952 he married Betty L. Whitehead at Piggott, Ark. She survives.

He is also survived by one son, Dale Frame, Sikeston; one daughter, Debby Davis, Sikeston; and two grandchildren.

One son and two brothers preceded in him in death.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Dempster Chapel at First United Methodist Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Charles E. Buck, pastor, and the Rev. Neil Stein, pastor of Centenary United Methodist Church of Cape Girardeau, officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
