DEXTER, Mo. -- The Rev. Frank Bain, 67, of Dexter died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at his home.
He was born Jan. 30, 1939, at Pocahontas, Ark., son of Lester F. and Naomi Lingle Bain. He and Trellis Ward were married Aug. 6, 1977, at Huntsville, Ala.
Bain was pastor of the Liberty Hill General Baptist Church in Aid, Mo. Prior to that position, he was pastor at Unity Baptist Church in Benton, Mo., Iona Baptist Church near Cape Girardeau, Bethany Baptist Church in Anna, Ill., and the General Baptist Church in Clay, Ky. He served as the music director and interim pastor at the First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Tim Bain of Scott City; a daughter, Jill Spriggs of Scott City; three stepdaughters, DeRhonda Gosche of Kelso, Mo., Lisa Schlosser and Dana Wright, both of Scott City; his stepmother, Lois Bain of Ellisville, Mo.; two brothers, Jim Bain of Mattoon, Ill., David Bain of San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Kay Jones of Scott City, Becky Woolverton of Ballwin, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Phil Warren and Sam Ramdial officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
