MARBLE HILL -- The Rev. Florence W. Long, 83, of Marble Hill died Friday, April 18, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau.
He was born at Marble Hill on July 22, 1913, son of Fred and Myrtle M. Russell Long.
Long had been a Pentecostal minister for more than 40 years and had owned a sawmill and lumber business in the area for many years.
He had married Lillie Rambo. She died in 1932. He married Marie Welker on Oct. 20, 1934.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Winfred Long, Junior Long and Don Long, all of Marble Hill; two brothers, Everett Long of Smithboro, Ill., and Ted Long of Moro, Ill.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and a granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Gene Robbins officiating. Burial will be in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
