The Rev. Conley Bowman, 71, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, at the Cape Girardeau Lutheran Home.

He was born in Booneville, Ky., son of Sim and Stella Herald Bowman.

He married Bertha Estepp on July 19, 1946.

He was a retired minister and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife and parents, all of Booneville; three sons, George Bowman of Atlanta, Ga., Don Bowman of St. Louis, Dave Bowman of Sikeston; two daughters, Louise St. John of Cape Girardeau and Joyce Nysewander of Plainfield, Ind.; a brother, Ben Bowman of Winchester, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Lilbourn, where he served as pastor during the early 1990s. Dr. Jim Guffey of Sikeston and the Rev. Bill Burton will officiate. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Shepherds Hill Cemetery at Booneville.
