EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Terry Jackson, 50, of East Prairie died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born Dec. 11, 1949, in Mississippi County, Mo., son of Joe L. and Effie Mae Morgan Jackson. He and Linda Summerlott were married Aug. 30, 1969, at East Prairie. She survives.
He had lived in Mississippi County all his life and was a member of First Baptist Church in East Prairie. He owned Jackson Aviation for 15 years and had been a farmer. He was president of the Missouri Ag Aviation Association, a past president of the Mississippi County Port Authority and an honorary deputy sheriff for Mississippi County. He also was past president of the Missouri Farm Bureau Young Farmers Association.
He was a veteran, having served in the security service of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Other survivors include his father; two sons, Dr. Terry L. Jackson Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., and James Andy Jackson of East Prairie; a brother, Chuck Jackson of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Barbara Organ of East Prairie, Janice Webb of Jefferson City, Mo., and Marjorie Blythe of Vandalia, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with George White and Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be at Dogwood Cemetery.
