Terrance Ladell Lane, 41, departed this life to glory Friday, July 22, 2016, in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 24, 1975, in Dexter, Missouri, to Sanfort (Joseph) Moore and Jesse Smith. He was third oldest of eight children, six brothers and two sisters.

He attended Cape Girardeau Central High School and was an all-around star athlete. He graduated in May 1993 and furthered his education at William Penn College.

Terrance joined the U.S. Navy in 1994 and served until 1996, receiving an honorable discharge.

Terrance served in the U.S. Postal Service delivery service in Cape Girardeau starting in 2002. He served 10 years, delivering mail and ministering words of encouragement to all with whom he crossed paths until he retired.

Terrance accepted his calling as a minister under pastor Howard McGee at New Horizon Ministries.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Chasity Holloway Lane; his mother, Sanfort (Lane) Moore; his father, Joseph Moore; two sisters, Kimberly Lane of Cape Girardeau and Chaquone Lane of Indianapolis; five brothers, Tommy Lane of Cape Girardeau, Timmy (Kristie) Lane of Cape Girardeau, Aubrey (Michelle) Carter of St. Louis, Joseph Moore of Cape Girardeau and Julian Moore of Cape Girardeau; five sons, Devonte Williams of Chicago, Deonte Jenkins (Bonita Jenkins) of Cape Girardeau, Theron O'Hare of Davenport, Iowa, Terrance Lane (Amiee Hatchett) of Sikeston, Missouri, and Tamal McMorris of St. Louis; two daughters, Katerra (Bonita Jenkins) Ruby Lane of Columbia, Missouri, and Sequoia Holloway; grandmother Mildred Smith of Kansas City, Missouri; "granny," Jessie Lane of Sikeston, Missouri; and a host of kinsmen and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tommy Lee Lane and Ruby Lee Lane.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at Greater Dimension Church of God in Christ in Cape Girardeau, with apostle Joann McCauley officiating. Family and friends' consolation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon. Burial with full military honors will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
