Teresa Hampton Connell of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Tuesday, Nov. 20, 1966, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Louis and Madelyn Atkinson Hampton. Teresa resided in Cape Girardeau for the majority of her life.
Teresa was very talented when it came to art. She was the president of her class in high school and was awarded the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts Scholarship based off her work. She was the sole winner for the state out of many applicants.
Teresa earned a degree in graphic design. She worked at the Southeast Missourian and KFVS12, and went on to start up her own graphic design company, which she ran more than 20 years. She was very hard working and went on to open two other businesses. When Teresa set her mind to something, she accomplished it and found a way to be successful in everything she did.
She was passionate about traveling, collecting unique antique items, going to wineries and animals. Teresa found joy in quality time with her father and taking on numerous home remodeling projects with him. You could often find her at an art show, sitting on the patio of her favorite restaurant or enjoying time with family.
Teresa was preceded in death by her sister, Diana Hampton, and her grandparents, Paul and Opal Hampton and Loren and Polly Atkinson.
She is survived by her parents; significant other, Sanford Goldberg; daughters, Taylor (Darian) Laurence and August Connell; three grandchildren, Bria, Addison and Tate; sister, Cindy Hampton; niece, Colleen Crader; nephew, Cole Schaumbaug.
A celebration of life will be held on Teresa's birthday, Sunday, Nov. 20. The location will be determined at a later date.
Arrangements are under the directions of CZ Boyer & Son funeral home Bonne Terre.
