Teddy D. Givens, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at the Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1933, in Cape Girardeau to Cletus Louis and Edna Curry Givens. He and Jacquelyn M. Boswell were married Aug. 25, 1955, at Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death Jan. 9, 2016.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as an airman.
Teddy worked on towboats on the river. He enjoyed being outside, especially doing yardwork.
Survivors include a daughter, Kim (Rick) Freed of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Vickie (Bill) Watling of Jackson; brother-in-law, Jack Huckstep of Scott City; two grandchildren, Jessica (Terry) Koch of Scott City and Teddy (Cara) Eggiman of Jackson; three stepgrandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Tammy Huckstep; and three brothers, Jack, Michael and Gary Givens.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with military rites conducted by the Missouri Honor Guard.
