Taylor Warpole, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, March 13, 2006, at his home.
He was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Curve, Tenn., son of Payton and Daisy Holloway Warpole. He and Fern Schuschke were married March 2, 1963, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Mr. Warpole was a veteran of World War II in the Pacific Theater, and served in the Army from March 12, 1941, to April 21, 1946.
He worked in California as a steamfitter and plumber for Bechel Construction Co. 25 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Steamfitters and Plumbers Local 398. He then moved to Idaho for 15 years before settling in Cape Girardeau.
He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Ronald T. Warpole of Tallin, Estonia; a stepdaughter, Sondra L. Finney of St. Peters, Mo.; three grandchildren, Tammy, Natalie, and Becky; three stepgrandchildren, Merrily, Jason, and Mickelle; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and a sister.
Friends may call at St. Andrew Lutheran Church Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew Church Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Andrew Building Fund or Southeast Hospice.
