CAIRO, Ill. -- Tauby Ryan, 61, of Cairo died Friday afternoon, July 26, 2013, at his home.
He was born July 8, 1952, in Cairo, the son of the late William and Patricia Aydt Ryan. He retired from Buzzi Unicem Corp. in Cape Girardeau.
Tauby was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of St. Patrick's Parish, Cairo Knights of Columbus, a 40-year member of the Cairo Elks Lodge, a 15-year member of Cairo Masonic Lodge, KIM Shrine Club and Ainad Shrine Temple and was a Scottish Rite Mason. He shared the title of Chief BBQ Cook of the First Appellate Court.
He is survived by three sons, William "Billy" Ryan of Carbondale, Ill., and Jason Ryan and Tommy Ryan, both of Olive Branch, Ill.; his sister, Marty Ryan of Paducah, Ky.; his brother, Jack Ryan of Red Bud, Ill.; two grandsons, Adam Haynes-Ryan of Scott City and Zack Ryan of Pana, Ill.; and cousins and other relatives.
His sister, Susan Weston, preceded him in death.
Visitation is at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo, where friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Barkett chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Dr. Larry L. Potts officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Villa Ridge, Ill.
