Sylvia Wise

Sylvia O. Wise, 90, formerly of Millersville, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Manor Care Nursing Center in Palm Harbor, Fla., where she had been a resident the past four years.

She was born Sept. 11, 1914, at Wappapello, Mo., youngest daughter of eight children to William Allison and Mary Lou Vicy Ball Estes. She and Joe D. Wise were married Aug. 25, 1929. He preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1986. She and Louis "Buck" Petitt were married April 9, 1989. He preceded her in death April 26, 1992.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Beverly Peter and Dana Miller of Palm Harbor, Thomas Miller of Carbondale, Ill.; and two great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Christopher Peter of Palm Harbor.

She had one daughter, Jo Diane Miller, who preceded her in death Oct. 9, 1998. She also had an infant son, Daniel Estes Wise, who preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1946.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Daniel Hale will officiate.
