Sylvia McFerron

Sylvia A. McFerron, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born May 30, 1910, at Laflin, Mo., daughter of Perry A. and Martha C. Snider Crawford. She and Howard J. McFerron were married Sept. 5, 1925, at Randles, Mo. He died June 26, 1979.

Sylvia lived in Cape Girardeau County most of her life. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors include three grandsons, George Hampton of Doniphan, Mo., Mike Hampton of Jacksonville, Fla., Steve Hampton of Sikeston, Mo.; a granddaughter, Candy Stanley of Jackson, Mo.; 10 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Thelma Hampton in July 1995; her parents, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. E.K. Purcell officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Mark Moore, Jason Hampton, Ben Hampton, Derek Hunt, Frank Hunt, Ron Barrett, Mike Carver, Chris Lambert and Joshua Barrett.
