Sylvia Virginia Holdman Johnson, 86, of Park Hills, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Parkland Hospital in Farmington, Missouri. She was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, daughter of William and Rosella Pettus Holdman. Sylvia Virginia Holdman Johnson, 86, of Park Hills, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Parkland Hospital in Farmington, Missouri.

She was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, daughter of William and Rosella Pettus Holdman.

Aunt Sis, as she was affectionately known by all who knew her, was a faithful member of the Church of God (Cleveland).

In later years, she was a member of Maple United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, where she was active in the Bible study groups, Shawl Ministry and ladies groups.

Aunt Sis grew up in the Bonne Terre, Missouri, area and graduated from Bonne Terre High School.

She worked at Purity Products Dairy, Brown Shoe Co. and Wetterau Foods.

In 1967, she moved to the Cape Girardeau area, where she continued to work for Wetterau Foods and Central Foods. She retired from Tipton Textile Rental.

She resided the past year and a half at Country Meadows Nursing Home in Park Hills.

Survivors include 19 nieces and nephews and their families; and two sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Johnson; parents; eight brothers, Elmer, Andy, Eugene, Howard, Lee, Mayford, Melvin and Woodrow; an infant sister, Mabel; a half brother, William George Holdman; and seven nieces and nephews.

The service was held Monday at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Missouri. Interment was in St. Francois Memorial Park at Bonne Terre.
