Sylvia Mae Dunn Clubb, 94, of Cape Girardeau left here in the arms of Jesus at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013.

She was born July 4, 1919, in Thebes, Ill., to Clyde and Ida Mae Mosher Dunn. She married Russell Clubb Sr. on Sept. 14, 1936. He preceded her in death April 18, 1982.

Sylvia was a member of Olive Branch Methodist Church. She deeply loved her church family. She was a historian for the Thebes Courthouse and Historical Society. She worked as a cook at the old Thebes School, Colonial Restaurant and Sands Pancake House for many years.

Her love of flowers was reflected in the many oil paintings she made throughout the years. She was an avid painter and loved playing her harmonica.

She is survived by one son, Russell Clubb Jr., and one sister, Edna Keesee, both of Cape Girardeau; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Gary Clubb; seven brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
