Susie McFerron

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Susie I. McFerron, 79, of Chaffee died Friday, March 9, 2007, at the family home in Chaffee. She was born March 22, 1927, at Chaffee to the late William Leonard and Gladys Irene Bailey Shackles.

She married James R. McFerron Sept. 4, 1945. Susie and Jim operated McFerron's State Farm Insurance Agency until his death June 29, 1980.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chaffee and a member of several civic organizations including Chaffee PEO, Ladies Auxiliary Chaffee VFW Post 3127, senior adult Sunday school class and the Tuesday afternoon bridge club.

She is survived by two children, Jennifer McFerron Nolen and her husband, David, of Chaffee, and Jae McFerron and his wife, Helen Braun McFerron, of Branson West, Mo.; an only brother, Leonard Bailey Shackles, and his wife, Betty, of O'Fallon, Mo.; five grandchildren, Casey Nolen of Portland, Ore., Kate Nolen of Kansas City, Mo., James, Paul and Luke McFerron, all of Branson West.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Cliff Day officiating. Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
