Susie Irene Baker, 92, of Jackson passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born Sept. 23, 1916, in Doniphan, Mo., to John and Ellen Quinn Ashcraft. She and Luther Baker were married Oct. 30, 1937. He died Sept. 23, 1979.
Susie worked 20 years as a nurse aide and med tech at the former Deal Nursing Home in Jackson, retiring in 1980.
Her hobbies included sewing and playing the guitar, but she especially enjoyed being with her family and cooking for them.
Loving survivors include four sons, Ivan (Joyce) Baker of DeSoto, Mo., Sherry D. (Kay) Baker and Sam (Jeanice) Baker, all of Jackson, Gary G. (Melva) Baker of Pocahontas; a sister, Lucille Johnson of Jackson; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and Clifton Quinn, and a sister, Ora Brooks.
Visitation is from noon until time of service today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
