Susan Jean Stephens, 86, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, July 7, 1997, at Village Green Nursing Home in Phoenix, Ariz.
She was born July 22, 1910, near Essex, daughter of James C. and Mary Haskel Grim. She married Hershel Hargraves, who preceded her in death. She later married Luther D. Stephens, who died March 30, 1991.
Stephens worked at International Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau several years. She later moved to St. Louis and worked at Small Arms Ammunition Plant during World War II, and later worked at Emerson Electric Co.
Survivors include a sister, Audrey McIntire, and a brother, Orville Grim, both of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Burial will be in Kembel Cemetery near Leora.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Paradise Chapel in Phoenix is in charge of arrangements.
