Susan Diane Masterson York, 62, of Cape Girardeau departed this world and met her Savior and Lord face to face March 12, 2017.
Diane was born Aug. 14, 1954, to Gerald "Bud" Masterson and Melba Nichols Masterson in Cape Girardeau and spent her childhood years in Cape Girardeau.
She graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1972.
On Nov. 17, 1972, she married James Edgar "Bub" York Jr. in Cape Girardeau.
Her family was her greatest joy, and her highlight was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She especially loved her Thursday "cooking" day with her granddaughter Peyton.
She also enjoyed her time with her mother-in-law, Joann Long.
Diane worked at Target in Cape Girardeau for 22 years.
She always loved greeting friends and family while working and would greet them with her beautiful smile and infectious laugh.
Diane is survived by her loving and devoted husband, "Bub"; daughter, Jennifer York of Orange Beach, Alabama; son, Dusty York of Nashville, Tennessee; grandson, Jacob York (Brittany) of Cape Girardeau; granddaughters Peyton York of Cape Girardeau and Lauren Grace York of Dallas; two great-grandchildren, Ava Keller and AJ York; her mother, Melba Masterson of Panama City, Florida; sisters Gail Loyd (Bo) of Jackson's Gap, Alabama, Catrece Morton (Jim) of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Leana Neal (Jeff) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Dean Jenkins of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daddy, Gerald "Bud" Masterson, in December 2015, and her sister, Dr. Cathy Jenkins, in January 2014.
Diane's family would like to thank family and friends for the love, attention and most importantly, the prayers since her passing.
