ULLIN, Ill. -- Funeral for Suda Baker of Ullin will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Richard Martin will officiate, with burial in Ullin Cemetery.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin after 6 p.m. today.

Baker, 78, died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born March 11, 1920, in Arkansas, daughter of Benjamin and Naomi Beggs Hammond. She married Kenneth Baker, who died April 1, 1987.

Baker was the Ullin correspondent for Tri-County Record. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Winkenwerder and Diana Bundy of Ullin, Patricia Wood of Elkhart, Ind.; a son, Kenneth Baker Jr. of Ullin; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, five brothers, and a sister.
