CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Stirling H. "Abe" Boyts, 81, of Chaffee died Friday, July 23, 2004, in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 77 south of Blomeyer, Mo.
He was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Puxico, Mo., son of John U. and Marie May Harbin Boyts. He and Alva Rea Holland were married Oct. 13, 1948. She died Oct. 13, 2002.
Boyts was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chaffee. He had been a conductor for the Frisco & Burlington Northern Railway. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a life member of Chaffee VFW Post 3127.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet K. Loucks of Chaffee, Tamara Hindman of Advance, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
