Steven Wade Volkerding, 47, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at his home.
He was born Oct. 29, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, son of Glenn W. and Lottie Bates Volkerding.
Volkerding was a graduate of Central High School. He was a baker with Dixie Creme Donuts and Donut Drive-In 30 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He served in the U.S. Army, and received the National Defense Service Medal.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Porter of Jackson, Mo., and a brother, John Volkerding of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 9-11 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Douglas Briete officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
