Steven Wayne Rector, 49, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at his home.
He was born Feb. 21, 1971, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, son of Jerry Rector and Cathy Womack Metzger. He and Kelli Seabaugh were married April 30, 2018. She survives.
Steven was employed at Columbia Construction as a cabinet maker. He enjoyed wood working, being outdoors, and cooking, but especially spending time with his family.
Loving survivors include his wife, Kelli Rector; his daughter, Maddie Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; his son, Justin (Danielle) Nelson of St. Louis; granddaughter, Jayna; his mother, Cathy Metzger of Cape Girardeau; his brother, Jerry (Casey) Rector of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his sister, Katie (David) Ivester of Chaffee, Missouri; his father- and mother-in-law, Randy and Cheryl Seabaugh of Jackson; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Rector.
Steven's memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
His memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wavis Jordan officiating.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
