Steven Christopher Pledger, 54, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 6, 2020, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Aug. 22, 1965, in Cape Girardeau to James and Maryann Oehlert Pledger. He and Stephanie Smith were married Jan. 17, 2009, in Cape Girardeau.

Steven was the director of Cape Girardeau County Archive Center. He was a weather watcher for WPSD Channel 6 in Paducah, Kentucky. He was also a member of Allen Laws Oliver Chapter of the Sons of American Revolution.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Pledger of Cape Girardeau; parents, James and Maryann Pledger of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Sarah (Talha) Siddiqi of Sikeston, Missouri, and Jennifer Campbell of Chaffee, Missouri; two sons, Stephen Williams of Cape Girardeau and Christopher (Breianna) Williams of Patton, Missouri; one brother, Jerry (Brenda) Pledger of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Joey Hency, Grace Houren, Sofia Siddiqi, Dominic Oakley and Jesse Williams; two nieces, Sabrina Pledger and Lindsay (Randy) Feagans, both of Sikeston; two great-nieces, Olivia and Caitlyn; and two great-nephews, Noah and Jesse.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lyle Johnston officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to Leukemia AML Society.
