Steven Barry, 43, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at his home.
He was born Dec. 23, 1970, in Houlton, Maine, to James L. and Constance Eleanor Reece Barry.
Steven attended Trinity Grace Chapel in Jackson. He worked for the City of Cape Girardeau several years, and was currently employed at C and H Properties. He was active in the community as he was involved with Habitat for Humanity, United Way and Boy Scouts of America. Steven loved sporting events and was an avid fisherman, but his greatest passion was his love for his family.
Survivors include his mother, Constance "Connie" Barry of Houlton; a son, Shaine Barry of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Kayla and Kayden Barry of Cape Girardeau; the children's mother, Christy Young of Cape Girardeau; Christy's parents, Don and Helen Howard of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Micheal Barry of Denton, Texas; three sisters, Kelly Collett of Denton, Kimberly (Jimmy) Wakeling of Cary Plantation, Maine, Christine (Carlos) Ramos of Houlton; best friend, Dustin Runnells of Cape Girardeau; and another special friend.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Troy Truitt officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Shaine, Kayla, and Kayden Barry Education Fund.
