Steve Michael "Tree Top" Williams, 51, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at Baptist Health Paducah in Paducah, Kentucky.

He was born Feb. 6, 1963, in Harbor City, California, to Danny Carrol and Judith Carolyn Rybolt Williams. He and Kathy Scherffius were married July 24, 1989, in Cape Girardeau.

Tree Top had worked for the city of Cape Girardeau, Allied Waste/CWI, and was a deck hand with Choctaw Transportation Co. of Dyersburg, Tennessee. He loved his Harley motorcycle, fishing, shooting pool, and was a big NASCAR fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Williams of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Gary Ray (Laize) Corse Jr. of Arlington, Virginia, and Gary Ray (Kirsten) Corse III of Dexter, Missouri; a daughter, Chasity Brook Ann (Jason) Stevens of Benton, Missouri; a great-aunt, Vera Windisch of Cape Girardeau; and six grandchildren, Andrew, Brook-Lyn, Caitlyn, Sean, Hayden and Lucas.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother who raised him, Virginia Rose.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
