Stephen R. Franklin, 42, of Bridgeton, died Monday, July 29, 1991, when a tree fell on him during a fishing trip near Boulder, Wyo. He was formerly of Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 13, 1949, in Memphis, Tenn., son of Clyde and Teresa Spuzzello Franklin. He was a 1967 graduate of Central High School, and 1971 graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla.
Franklin was a civil engineer and had worked with the Kansas Highway Department. For more than 10 years he worked at Sverdrup Corp. in St. Louis. He was a member of Grace Christian Church in Bridgeton, and the St. Louis YMCA.
Survivors include a brother, Don Franklin of Sherwood, Ark.; two sisters, Carol Wesemann of Puxico, Kathleen Clippard of Jackson, and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret, in 1981.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Tom Smith will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Friday.
