Stephanie Hampton

PUXICO, Mo. -- Stephanie Rena Hampton, 37, of Puxico died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

She was born Oct. 12, 1972, in Fort Smith, Ark., daughter of Paul Wayne and Vera J. Cato Harper. She and Jerry "Wayne" Hampton Jr. were married April 11, 1998.

Stephanie was a preschool teacher at Cape Girardeau Head Start in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Scott City.

Survivors include her husband and daughter, Scarlett Rose Hampton of Puxico, and her mother, Vera J. Harper of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Wayne Harper.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Assembly of God Church in Scott City, with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating and assisted by Pastor Glen Epp. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Cemetery in Advance, Mo.
