SIKESTON, Mo. -- Stella Viola Duke, 100, of Sikeston died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
She was born April 19, 1906, in the Bement community, daughter of Joseph and Lydia Ward Tate. She and Martin Ebert Duke were married in 1923. He died June 22, 1958.
Duke was a member of North Acres General Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, A.A. "Buddy" Duke of Paducah, Ky., Franklin Duke of Bend, Ore., Donald Duke of Jackson, Bobby Duke of Stillwater, Okla.; three daughters, Hazel Billington of Festus, Mo., Velma Stacey of Little Rock, Ark., Joyce Cowan of Terre Haute, Ind.; 24 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, four brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Steve Tippen officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
